Facebook buys WhatsApp for $19 billion


Facebook has entered into an agreement to acquire WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, for $16 billion in cash and stock.

Referring to WhatsApp's soaring growth, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on a conference call, "No one in the history of the world has done anything like that."

The deal is by far Facebook's largest acquisition to date. WhatsApp is the most popular messaging app for smartphones.

Like Instagram, WhatsApp will function as an autonomous unit within Facebook, with all the existing employees coming in as part of the deal.

Iyanya Signs on as an Ambassador for Tech Company Lenovo



Iyanya was arguably the top musician with most endorsement deals in 2013 and it seems he is taking the crown again this 2014.

Kukere master has signed another lucrative deal; this time as a brand ambassador for Lenovo. Lenovo is a Chinese multinational technology company.

It is evident the brand fully wants to cement itself in the Nigerian market and chose Iyanya to represent them.

Philip Seymour Hoffman, Actor, Dies at 46


Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead Sunday of an apparent drug overdose at his Manhattan apartment.

Hoffman, who is survived by three children with his partner Mimi O'Donnell, had detailed his struggles with substance abuse in the past.


So sad! I loved how he played the priest in Doubt. RIP
