Karen and Wendall win Big Brother Africa Amplified

After 90 days of drama and excitement, Nigerian housemate, Karen and Zimbabwean housemate, Wendall have emerged winners of the Big Brother Africa Amplified reality show.

The two walked away with US$200,000 each, the first time the reality show is announcing two winners for the show.

Sunday’s finale was fun packed full of action and exciting performances not only from some of the continent’s best acts, but Africa and Ghana’s DJ extraordinaire, DJ Black was also in action behind the turn tables doing what he does best.

Also in attendance at the finale night were evicted housemates; Alex, Confidence, Michael, Weza, Felicia, Miss P (Poe), Jossy, Bernadina, Bhoke, Danny, Ernest, Kim, Lotus, Millicent, Mumba, Nic, Nkuli, Vimbai and Zeus.

After catching up with some of the exciting moments of this season’s show, IK, host of the show, went into the house to interact with the remaining seven housemates; Vina, Hanni, Karen, Wendall, Sharon O, Lomwe and Luclay.

The dreadful final eviction begun just after Tanzanian, CPWAA had thrilled audience to an exciting performance.

When IK started shooting the eviction arrows, Nigerian housemate Vina was the first victim followed by Ethiopian housemate, Hanni.

With five (Top 5) housemates, Karen, Wendall, Sharon O, Luclay and Lomwe, remaining, IK asked them to leave the house, that move got Karen utterly stunned.

The Top 5 housemates were ushered onto the main stage after South Africans, Speedy and Professor, unleashed their smash hit Lento on the charged audience.

After a brief chit-chat with the five housemates and highlights of their stay in the Big Brother House, the final round of evictions to determine the winner begun.

Sharon O became the first housemate to be evicted from the Top 5 and the third housemate to be evicted on the day. She was followed by Lomwe.

The Amplfied Crew and DR Congo musician, Fally Ipupa did not fail to deliver when they took turns to show their worth on the Amplified stage.

After those exciting performances, it was down to the final three. After nervy moments, South African housemate, who was earlier predicted to win the show with Karen, was evicted.

It was now down to the wire, Karen and Wendall. IK asked the two to join him on stage.

As they walked to meet IK on the main stage, they did not know they were both winners because it had not been declared earlier that, this season’s show will have two winners who will walk away with US$200,000 each.

Typical IK style, the winners will not be declared easily as he dragged Karen and Wendall through moments of an unbearable tension.

Finally when he declared the two as the show’s winners, they were stunned with Karen breaking down on her knees. They wore smiles of unlimited joy.
