One of Africa’s biggest and widely respected acts Femi Kuti and long time dancer Bose Ajila have taken delivery of their first baby girl together.
Sources say Bose Ajila who is one of Femi’s several mistresses, put to bed few weeks ago.
Bose who has been a long time member of Femi’s ‘Positive Force’ music band has toured with Femi to Europe and other parts of the world over the years – and their affair has been known to band members and New Afrika Shrine regulars for a while now.
In a recent interview with HIP TV, Femi disclosed that he was be expecting another baby, ‘…there is Omorinmade, there is Ayomide, there is Tunmise, there is Lade and I have a new born baby coming very soon. I would like all of them to be in the art business, if not play music on stage as performing artists…’.
Just last year Femi, son of Afrobeat creator Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, received his second Grammy nomination at the 52nd edition of the Grammy Awards in the Best Contemporary World Music Album category.
Femi has only been married once (to Funke Kuti, on May 8, 1995). The marriage ended controversially in April 2003, allegedly due to infidelity.
Last year, he said ‘I have girlfriends. I don’t believe in marriage. I got married once and I knew I was wrong…’.
He also claimed he ‘has many girlfriends and they know themselves’.
