NBC bans Dbanj's 'Oliver'
Oliver, the new single from D'banj has been banned by the regulatory body for its "lewd lyrics".
Oliver is to have its airplay stopped on radio and TV stations in Nigeria as the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) which is the regulatory agency for all media houses in Nigeria has banned the song, stating "Oliver Twist has Lewd Lyrics." and with immediate effect it is to be pulled from rotation on TV and radio.
Don Jazzy has reacted to the ban, he is quoted as saying: 'Let’s see how they stop people from hearing it elsewhere. We’re not the first people they’ll ban and we’ll not be the last. ' and continued as he took a swipe at the commission for the ban as he said 'The truth is that the person that banned this song will hear this song till he is sick of it.
He will hear it at almost every party he goes to. He will hear it from the cars that will drive pass him. He will hum the melody even in his sleep.'
