SuperStory, our winning secrets – Adenuga

When a programme evaluation report by Media Monitoring Services Nigeria Limited (MMS) for the first half of 2011, announced recently that multiple awards winning TV Drama series, Superstory, is the most watched soap opera in the country, it didn’t come as any surprise to the producer, Wale Adenuga.

According to him, this is a product the immense creativity invested in the production.

He says, "Of course, we are humbled by the awards and recommendations. We are especially motivated by our teeming fans that inspire us to strive for excellence. Our immeasurable gratitude goes to the cast and crew as well as the advertising agencies who work tirelessly to put Superstory on the pedestal."

Ten years after its debut on Nigerian television, the Super Story series, with its authentic and poignant stories, delivered by a hybrid of the best actors from television and stage and home video, has continued to be the high water mark by which other soaps are measured. Its spin offs like Thislife, which ranked second on the list of most watched soaps; the popular sitcom, Papa Ajasco and Company; and Nnenna and Friends, are also success stories on television.
