The Chairman of Silverbird Group, Ben Murray-Bruce has been appointed
as a honourary special adviser in the cabinet of newly sworn in Bayelsa
State governor, Seriake Dickson.
In a statement made available to pressmen, the Senior Special
Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Daniel
Iworiso-Markson says Mr. Bruce, 54, is expected to perform in advisory
capacity as a ‘Special Adviser on Investment and Tourism, drawing on his
wealth of experience in show business garnered over the years.
The move is intended to maximally boost Bayelsa state’s tourism
sector, harnessing the vast economic potentials of its aquatic
environment.
The entertainment boss back in October 2011 declared his intention to
run for the governorship of same state but was later eliminated. Some
say Bruce was disqualified because he possessed dual citizenship.
Bruce sits atop The Silverbird Group, which consists of Silverbird
Entertainment, Silverbird Cinemas, Rhythm FM and Most Beautiful Girl
Nigeria. The group is thought to be one of the largest media
entertainment companies in Africa.
