ON Friday, March 30, 2012, Kunle Afolayan rolled out his new movie “Phone Swap” into cinemas in Nigeria.
Over the last few weeks, the film has gathered reviews from New York Times, Al- jazeera TV and has also received five nominations from the African Movie Academy Awards especially in the category of Best Nigerian Films.
Now everyone is heading to the cinemas to watch since the movie opened on big screen. Box office receipts have been strong and with positive word-of-mouth reports, numbers are set to keep reaching new heights, which is currently over any Hollywood films showing presently at the cinemas.
Phone Swap is being awarded more cinema slots for the pleasure of movie lovers and brand agencies are clamoring for private screening for their clients. Genesis Cinemas, Shoprite Lekki have six showings a day. It is also showing at Ozone and Silverbird cinemas nationwide.
