Organizers of the annual comedy fiesta, Gbenga Adeyinka & Friends, have released the line up for the 2011 edition of the show. The show which will be hosted by veteran stand up comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka, popularly known as Comedian of the Federal Republic of Nigeria - Gbenga Adeyinka 1st, will hold in Ibadan in partnership with Enzymes Communications.
Speaking on the forthcoming event, Abimbola Otubu, Head of Business Enzymes Communications, reveals that the choice of partnering with the comedian is made solely for entertainment purposes."In conjunction with Gbenga Adeyinka we have identified different touch points to attract and engage the Ibadan populace in a very exciting and impactful way. The show promises to be entertainment at its peak," Otubu said.
Gbenga Adeyinka, who is most popular for excellently anchoring shows for the Star Lager brand of Nigerian breweries, also commented on the decision to move the show from its usual Lagos venue to Ibadan."The management of Laughter Incorporated, producers of Gbenga Adeyinka & Friends, Laffmattaz, Laffmattaz magazine and Gbamu Gbamu, through a think tank team did a research that showed that the Lagos showbiz arena is gradually getting saturated thus, we felt the need to move out of Lagos and reach out to other fans and entertainment lovers outside Lagos," the chubby comedian said.
"The team further researched on part of the country that needed to be touched and the South West came to our mind. However, Ibadan became the choice of venue because it stands out as the rallying point for the South West," he explained.He also noted that the show will continue to move to other south western part of the country over the coming years.
