Legendary actor turned politician, Richard Mofe Damijo is set to stage a comeback to his first love-acting. He will be starring in the popular soap opera, ‘Tinsel” produced by M-Net Africa.

RMD, who is currently holding the seat of Commissioner for Commerce and Tourism in Delta State, is arguably one of the best actors Nollywood has ever produced. .
He made his debut as the long-lost/presumed dead father of Angela Dede (played by Matilda Obaseki) in now rested soap, Checkmate. .
Back in his days as Segun Kadiri on the, “Checkmate’, RMD built a stellar acting career and has starred in more than forty movies. These days, he is giving back to his community via public service by serving as the Commissioner for Commerce and Tourism in Delta State.
MNet is celebrating its 50th episode and to mark this milestone, the producers decided to introduce RMD The 30 minutes soap recently auditioned for new acts on March 25–26, 2011 in Lagos at these following locations; SS Lounge (Victoria Island), Freedom Park (Lagos Island), Protea Leadway (Maryland) and in FCT Abuja at the Protea Hotel (Asokoro)
