Hilda Dokubo resurfaces in Stigma

Almost a decade after she disappeared from the screen, popular Nollywood actress cum politician, Hilda Dokubo, has resurfaced again.

She is among the notable international actors and actresses that starred in the new culturally induced movie titled”Stigma”

The movie, produced by a Port-Harcourt based (Special Effects) Make-up artist, Dagogo Diminas, chronicles the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS in the society.

In the words of Diminas, “Stigma” is not just another Nollywood movie with a predictable storyline on this deadly disease. “Rather, it is one with an exceptional storyline that gives a detailed exposure on other ways by which the disease can be contracted and how dreams can still be realized if the major killer – stigmatization is defeated.”

“Stigma”, he said unveils and celebrates the beauty of the Kalabari Kingdom and other communities in Rivers State, from the language, food, dance and lifestyle of the people, with the complete promotion of culture in the package, making it a typical African movie to be held in high esteem.

Starring in the movie are notable actors and actresses, including Ghanaian sensation Jackie Apiah who played the lead role. Others are Hilda Dokubo, Emeka Ike, Clem Ohaneze and Ngozi Nwosu amongst others.

A pioneering actress, Dokubo is known for her emotional roles. Her role remains her impressive turn as an HIV/AIDS victim in the 1998 Zeb Ejiro movie, “Goodbye Tomorrow”, alongside Saint Obi.
