The Flavour of the Month - in record deal with badbeats


Chinedu Okoli as his parents christened him at birth began his musical sojourn in 2002 when he was barely 19. He joined a band in his home state Enugu as a drummer and went on to become a keyboardist after performing with the band for a while.

In 2004 he went solo forming his own band and in no time he became a household name in Enugu and environs.

Flavour's collaboration with artistes like; (then Nigga Raw) now Mr. Raw and MC Loaf brought him critical acclaim and very recently his song with MI African Rapper number 1 have earned him the keen interest of industry watchers who has dubbed him the next big act.

Although he has done hit collabos with MC Loaf, Mr. Raw (formerly Niga Raw) and MI, Enugu-based highlife artiste, Flavour, is yet to be rated as an A-List musician.

After very successful albums Nabania (2008) and Uplifted (2010), Flavour has finally moved to the headquaters of Nigerian entertainment - Lagos and recently inked a lucrative record deal with Bad Beats Records. A move that is destined to make Flavour one of the most celebrated African musical artist, EVER!

The record label, Badbeats records is a product of the amalgamation of two US based Nigerian entertainment companies, Big A Entertainment, owned by Anderson Obiagwu and Ciba Entertainment owned by Ike Odelugo. They share the common goal of introducing African talents to the rest of the world; hence were responsible for taking seasoned Nigerian such as Timaya, Bracket, Mr Raw, Tuface, Flavour, J martins and P Square to America for the first time. They have been able to achieve this by organizing major concerts in Texas, California, New York and other parts of America

And to prove they are ready for business, the label decided to shoot Flavour's two videos, My Woman Is Gone (shot in New York City, America) and Nwa Baby (shot in South Africa). These videos are scheduled to hit the Nigerian television stations very soon.

Flavour is currently planning his 2011 International tour including headlining performances in the United States, England and Canada.

Look out for Flavour's 2011 brand new single titled "Thank God!" A song which thanks God in English, Igbo and Yoruba.
