Music Fair set to hold in University of Lagos



Plans have been put in place to host over 60 musicians at the first edition of 9ja music fair staged to hold at the University of Lagos Art's Theatre, on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 June.

The event will afford members of the entertainment industry including musicians and music business practitioners the opportunity to interact with consumers, share knowledge and relish the multifaceted musical resources of Nigeria.

As well as celebrating creativity, the music fair organized by Portyer, a Lagos based multimedia production and Entertainment Company will encourage acknowledgment of creative works and bring about increased rewards.

According to Olujuwon Bukunola-Philips, publicist to the organizers, "9ja music fair will be one of the largest sales exhibitions of all genres of Nigerian music and also be an avenue for discussions that will elevate the standard of the industry." Three concerts, musicians' workshop, a photo exhibition and sales of Nigerian music are some of the features of the event which will encourage music appreciation, production and marketing.

Over 400 artists will participate in the musicians workshop facilated by Ope Banwo, producer of ‘Ghetto Dreamz'; Emem Ema formally of KUSH; Gboyega Oyedele ‘Afrologic' of Classic FM and Papa Tee.
