Baba Suwe: No drug excretion after day four


Ace actor and comedian, Omidina Babatunde, who is popularly known as Baba Suwe, on Saturday evening made another excretion but no drug was found.

This is coming barely 24 hours after he made the first excretion.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency however said the comedian will continue to undergo due investigative process.

While calling on members of the public to exercise patience pending the outcome of investigations. The agency urged stakeholders to make necessary sacrifices for the collective interest of all citizens and national security.

The actor who was to board an Air France flight to Paris at about 10pm on Wednesday October 12, 2011 at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos, allegedly tested positive to drug ingestion thus leading to his detention.

It was gathered that Babatunde was being kept in a well-guarded location and no one apart from the operatives of the commission was allowed access to him.
NDLEA Airport commander, Hamza Umar said the actor was still being monitored in safe custody.

Hamza said, “It is important to follow the due process. Members of the public should be patient. There is reasonable ground for suspicion and it is crucial to allow the due process to run its course. He is fine and has gone for the first and second excretion but no drug had been found on him thus far. It is just the normal process for passengers.”

The Head, public affairs, Ofoyeju Mitchell also said, “The actor will still be under observation. The agency’s doctor who re-examined him said he was in good health condition. He is cooperating with narcotic investigators. Further up-date on the matter shall be made known to the general public.”
