2Face & D'banj win Best International Act (Africa) award at 2011 BET Awards



Multiple award-winning musicians Tuface Idibia and D'banj on Sunday June 26, 2011 emerged joint winners of the Best International Act (Africa) award at the 2011 BET Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

The artists were nominated alongside Ghana's D-black, Angelique Kidjo from Benin Republic, Teargas from South Africa and DR Congo's Fally Ipupa.

Other winners at the BET Awards, honouring black entertainers and sports stars, include Chris Brown, who won in four categories including Viewers' Choice, Male R&B artist, Collaboration, and Video of the Year categories.

Rihanna won the Female R&B Artist, Kanye West won the Male Hip-Hop Artist, Nicki Minaj won the Female Hip-Hop Artist, Wiz Khalifa won the Best New Artist category, Best Group went to Diddy-Dirty Money, and the Video Director the Year went to Chris Robinson.

The Best Actor went to Idris Elba, Best Actress went to Taraji P. Henson and ‘For Colored Girls' won in the Best Movie category, and also for Director, and Supporting Actress.
