Baba Dee apologises to Goldie
The month-old beef between pop diva, Goldie, and veteran dance hall act, Baba Dee, has been squashed. Early in the week, Goldie posted on twitter, “I was pleasantly surprised tonight when Baba Dee approached me in Ikeja and apologised and so did I. Thank God we cleared the air. We are besties now. Bless.”
But Baba Dee is rather silent about the reconciliation, saying that the whole thing was blown out of proportion. He says he has moved on.
An ill-conceived tweet from Baba Dee questioning the talent and artistry of Goldie drove a wedge into their relationship. “This Goldie girl should stop singing,” Baba Dee had tweeted in response to a musical video of Goldie he saw.
Understandably, the tweet inflamed Goldie who could not understand why an artiste who had not had a hit song since 2000, according to her, would blatantly impugn on her music and integrity via a public medium like twitter. Goldie then took time to literally dissect Baba Dee’s chequered career, reminding him that he was not musically successful enough to advise her.
